The House Trompenburgh in ’s-Graveland was originally designed by Hooge Dreuvik in 1654, and was the home of Joan Hellemondt until 1672, when it was almost completely destroyed after the French invasion. It is a beautiful building, and almost completely surrounded by water. In 1675 Admiral Cornelis Tromp had it re-built. Over the years the Trompenburgh has had many residents. The building is now a national monument, and is currently undergoing extensive restoration work.
