The Dutch Grain Museum is housed inside the Woltzig Windmill. The museum has a number of exhibitions related to the cultivation of grains and oilseeds, and how the process has changed throughout history. The Woldzigt mill was founded in 1852 by two farmers – S. J. Datema, and E. F. Aukema. The mill was used to produce linseed and rapeseed oil during the months of September – May, and was idle the rest of the year, so the farmers relied on other sources of income, such as livestock, for the rest of the year.
