The Trouwe Waghter is an historic wipmolen in the town of Tienhoven. It was built in 1831 to replace two older, decaying polder mills. A wipmolen is the smallest kind of polder mill, and one of the oldest common Dutch designs. The mills are used to drain small areas of farmland, and prevent flooding. The Trouwe Waghter mill is now owned by the Netherlands Association for the Preservation of Natural Monuments. Tours are available by appointment only.
