De Poel Mill

The De Poel Mill is a working corn mill located on Gerbenesseweg in the town of ’s-Heer Abtskerke. The mill was built in 1752, and was originally owned by the Verschoor family of Nisse. When the mill was sold in 1843, one of the provisions of the sale was that the miller was obligated to provide free use of the mill to the Verschoor family. Today the mill is owned by the City of Borsele, and is ran on a voluntary basis. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only.
