The De Hoop Mill was built in 1881 to replace an older corn mill that had been destroyed by a fire earlier in the year. The De Hoop mill was built by J. J. Formsma using parts from a decommissioned corn mill from Kootstertille. The mill is now owned by the Tytsjerksteradiel County, and was restored in 1992. The De Hoop Mill is open to the public every Saturday, and tours can be arranged for other days upon request.
