The De Hoop Mill was built in 1847, around 700 meters north of the village. The mill is the oldest of the two corn mills in Sint Maartensdijk. The mill was bought by Jacob Gaakeer in 1851, and then sold to the Zeedijk family in 1871. The Zeedijk family sold the mill to J. J. Heyboer in 1919. The mill was sold to Mr C. Franke in 1979. The mill is now recognised as a historic monument. Restoration work began in 2005.
