The Cheese Museum, or ’Kaasmuseum’ is located on Hoep in the town of Schagen. The museum contains a number of collections which illustrate the history of cheesemaking in the Netherlands from 1750 to the present day. Visitors to the museum can learn about how cheese was made, and the different kinds of cheese that are popular in the Netherlands, as well as learn about cheese markets. The museum is open to the public, although it is best to telephone the museum before visiting to confirm opening hours.
