The Bovenmolen G was built in 1633, as one of six mills which served the Ursem and Schermerhorn Polders. The mills were operated in groups on a stair-tiered system to drain water from the polders. The mills were closed down in 1929, but were re-opened during the Second World War. In 1970, the Bovenmolen G was restored, and since then the mill has been ran on a regular basis. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
