The Bergh Castle was built in 1240, and originally consisted of a moat, a round, stone tower, and a separate moated bailey. The tower was torn down and replaced by a large square keep in the 14th century, and in the 16th century Count Willem IV made more modifications to the castle. The castle was bought by the wealthy industrialist J. H. van Heek in 1912. Today, the castle houses a large collection of late-medieval art.
