The Zeeuws Museum is located at the rear of the Abbey in Middelburg. It holds a wide collection of finds from the Zeeland area, including a number of paintings by 20th century artists such as Mesdag, Jan, and Toorop. The museum also holds a number of 16th century tapestries, commisioned by the local authority of the time, and depicting the period’s naval battles against the Spanish, and a collection of local traditional costumes.
