The Windmotor in Mirns is a modern watermill located on the Wieldyk in the city of Gaasterlan-Sleat. The Windmotor was built in 1920, and is of a relatively rare design known as the U.S. Wind Engine. The area surrounding the mill forms part of the Mokkebank Nature Reserve, and is home to a range of rare birds, including the Anser geese, and the Great Creseted Grebe.
