The Windlust Mill was built by J. F. Dreis in 1859, following a commission by A. Kraaijinga. It was upgraded in 1914 by H. Schuurman, with beams and stone from an old, decommissioned mill in Arnhem. The mill is currently owned by the Slochteren Mill Society. Restoration work was performed in 1969, but there are still a lot of problems with the mill, and it is currently idle. Tours of The Windlust Mill are available by appointment.
