The Sterrenberg was originally a German mill. It was built in the town of Weener, Ostfriesland, in 1786, and stood there for almost 200 years. In 1977, the mill was moved piece by piece to the town of Nijeveen, and rebuilt there. The mill is named after the it’s last German owner, Mr. Sterrenberg. The mill is quite unique in that it has a dial inside the hood that will allow the hood to turn towards the wind, without requiring the intervention of the miller.
