The Nightingale Mill was built in 1612. The town had originally planned to construct five corn mills, but the other four were never built. In 1704 the mill was moved from the centre of the town to its current location. The mill was in commercial use until 1960, when it was closed down and used only for storage. In 1973, the mill was restored to working order. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
