The Mallumse Mill was built in 1748, it consists of two main buildings – a corn mill on the right, and an oil mill on the left. The oil mill was closed down in 1917, but the rest of the mill remained in use until 1943. In 1948, the mill was bought by the Mallumse Mill Foundation, who started a restoration project, and now maintain the mill. The Mallumse Mill is open to visitors, and offers demonstrations of traditional barley and grain milling.
