The Maasmolen was built in 1741 to serve the Over-Neerasselt polders. David ten Hoven, the Lord of Sleeburg, made the decision to build the mill after the dikes at the Maasdijk were destroyed by the water. The mill has had several owners, including the Heynen family, and Mr A. Dijkmans. Today the mill is owned by the town, and the Nature Foundation organise regular walks of the area near the mill, as well as scheduled tours of the mill.
