The Hooydonk Water Mill was built originally built in the 14th century, but the current mill is much more modern, having been built shortly after the 80 years war. The mill almost faced demolition in the 1980s, but was saved by a private buyer, who converted the former oil mill into a corn mill, and restored the building. The Hooydonk Water Mill is open to the public, and there are regular mill demonstrations and educational events held in the mill complex.
