The Four Winds Mill is a traditional corn and barley ’pelmolen’ in the town of Pieterburen. It was built in 1846 for Mr. H. W. van der Molen, to replace an older mill that had been destroyed in a fire. The mill was bought by the municipality of Eenrum in 1961, as part of an initiative to preserve the few remaining mills in the area. In 1971, extensive restoration work was carried out on the mill. Today, the mill is in working order, and is open to the public. Opening times are limited, although tours are also available by appointment.
