The ’t Zwaantje Mill is an historic water mill located near the Sânfeartdyk in the town of Nijemirdum. The mill was built in 1893, to replace an older mill that had been destroyed in a fire. The mill was originally responsible for the Huitebuursterpolder. The ’t Zwaantje mill was decommissioned in 1956, and stood idle for more than twenty years before it was restored. In 1996, the mill was bought by the Fryske Mill Foundation. The ’t Zwaantje Mill is open to the public.
