The Stadhuis in Middelburg is generally considered one of the finest Gothic secular buildings in all of Zeeland. It was built between 1452 and 1458 by the Keldermans family. Around 50 years later a Meat Hall (Vleeshal) was added. The Meat Hall now serves as an exhibition hall for temporary displays of contemporary art. There are regular guided tours of the Vleeshal and the rest of the Stadhuis.
