The Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre Lenie ’t Hart, known as the Seal Sanctuary to locals, is a great place for people of all ages to visit. The Seal Sanctuary was set up to help care for seals that are ill, injured, or were born prematurely. There can be 40 or more seals in their care at any time, and visitors to the sanctuary learn about seals, their needs and habitats, and can watch the workers as they care for the seals, and visit the kitchens and other facilities at the center.
