The Schaloensmolen is an historic water-driven corn mill located on the grounds of the Valkenburg Schaloen castle. The mill was built in 1661, as part of an expansion to the castle. The castle and the mill were bought by the town in 1969, and in 1970 the town leased the mill to the Institute for Nature Education. The mill is now used as a venue for group meetings, and for exhibitions. The Schaloensmolen is open to the public.
