The Ropta Mill is an historic corn mill located on Roptawel in the town of Metslawier. The mill was originally built in 1836 by R. de Werf on the behalf of D. J. Sluiter. The Ropta mill was decommissioned in 1961. Today, the mill is owned by the Dongeradeel Monument Foundation. The foundation restored the mill in 1996, and it can now be seen in operation on a regular basis. The Ropta mill is open to the public.
