The Onze Lieve Vrouwe Basiliek is an 11th century church in Maastricht. It has a strongly fortified west front, with small slits for windows. It is a dark, stern church compared to most of the Protestant churches in Maastricht, with a vaulted Gothic nave and a Romanesque base. The church Treasury holds a collection of relgious items, including the dalmatic of St Lambert, a bishop who was apparently murdered by a local noble in the year 705.
