The Molenromp is an historic spinnenkop mill located just to the west of Nummer in the town of Nijhuizum. The mill was built in 1832, and was originally used as a drainage mill. In the early 20th century, the mill was upgraded to use a diesel engine. During the 1970s, this engine was replaced by an electric motor. In the 1990s, the mill was threatened with demolition. The Nijefurd Mill Foundation stepped in to protect the mill. Currently, only the mill tower remains. The Nijefurd Mill Foundation are working towards restoring the mill.
