The Landscape Foundation Museum is housed in the Van Frans Mill, which was built in 1711. The Van Frans Mill was originally a paper mill, and belonged to Mayor Bernard Kremer of Ootmarsum. In 1870 it was sold to H. French, who converted it to a corn mill. In 1911 the mill was expanded to include a bakery. Today, the mill is owned by the Overijssels Landscape Foundation, and is host to an information center, and a permanent exhibition on the history of the region, and how the local flora and fauna has changed over time.
