The Jan Verwey Naturzentrum is a nature centre and exhibition area devoted to the flora and fauna in Noordwijk and the surrounding area. The centre has limited opening hours – usually only being open to visitors on the morning of the first Saturday of each month. The centre is named after Dr Jan Verwey, who was an accomplished Zoologist and founded the NIOZ institute, which focused on marine research. The centre was founded four years after Verwey’s death, as a tribute to his many great works.
