The Grote Kerk in Nijmegen is dedicated to St Stephen. Construction began around the year 1260, and the first tower was built in 1307. There is little of the original building remaining, with the nave having been rebuilt in the 1400s, and many additions made in the late 16th and early 17th centurues. The church was heavily damaged during the Second World War, but has been carefully restored. The tomb of Catherine of Bourbon can be found in the choir.
