The Forteiland Pampus is located near IJ-Meer, in the town of Muiden. It is a well preserved military building, dating back to the late 19th century. The Forteiland Pampus is maintained by the Pampus Foundation, which was established on September 15th, 1986 in order to restore and preserve the island-based fort. The fort is open to visitors throughout the year, with a regular ferry service taking visitors to the island.
