The De Valk mill was built in 1753 to replace an older post mill, that it is believed had served the area since 1492. The mill has had several owners, including a local contractor, Mr A. H. Verstegen, who bought the mill in 1953 to save it from demolition. At the time, the mill had been idle for almost 12 years. Mr Verstegen did some restoration work on the mill, but it was not until the 1980s, when the mill was bought by the Utrecht Mill Foundation, that it was returned to working order. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only.
