The De Rietvink was built in 1855 as the first of six mills on the Great Veenpolder. The mill was built by Anne Fabriek, and has a small millers house attached to it. The mill was put into use on the 246h November 1855. The first Miller was Koenders Dijkstra. Dijkstra only served the mill for a few weeks before being moved to work another mill. The Rietvink mill was closed down in 1964. Today, the Rietvink mill is privately owned, and ran on a recreational basis.
