The ’Onrust Mill’, or ’Unrest Mill’ was built in 1850 for Mr Remke Brugger. In 1956, the mill was bought by the town of Oude Pekela, and in 1969 it was added to the list of protected monuments. The Molema company of mill-makers restored the Onrust Mill in 1987, and it is now used as a teaching mill for the Groninger Guild of Voluntary Millers. The mill is open to the public, however it is best to call to make an appointment before visiting.
