The De Hoop Mill was built in 1857 for Hermannus Beins. The mill has had several owners, including Luderus Warmelts and Jan Snijders. The mill is currently owned by the Canberra Mill Foundation. The foundation carried out a lot of restoration work on the mill in the year 2000, and have since operated the mill on a voluntary basis. The current miller is germ Geersing. The mill is open to the public every Saturday afternoon.
