The Windmotor is a comparatively modern watermill located to the south of Bovenburen in the town of Koudum. The mill was built to serve the Samenvoeging polder. The Windmotor uses a modern design known as the U.S. Wind Engine. This design gained popularity at the start of the twentieth century, and is still commonly seen in the Friesland region today. The Windmotor is still in use today, and is not currently open to the public.
