The Waag, or Weigh House, in Leiden, is located on Vismarkt. It was designed by Pieter Post, and features an interesting frieze which shows a merchant watching as some straining labourers work around him. Pieter Post was a well known architect, and the brother of the famous artist Frans Post. The Waag was constructed in 1658. Today, it is used as a venue for cultural events, and hosts a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
