The Woudaap Mill was built in 1651 to serve the 710 hectare Krommenieer-Woudpolder. The mill worked in partnership with two other windmills, ’De Pulp’, and ’De Waterdief’. In times of drought, the De Waterdief mill would direct water from the polder to the nearby forest. In 1926, the De Waterdief mill was demolished and replaced by an electric pump. The Woudaap mill is still in use today, and is owned by the Hollands Noorderkwartier company.
