The Twiskemolen

The original Twiskemolen was built in 1578, to serve the 650 hectare Twiskepolder. In the 1960s, the mill was in a very poor condition, and was dismantled so that restoration work could be performed, with plans for the mill to be rebuilt in Niew-Vennep. This did not happen, so in 1974 the Twiskemolen was rebuilt in its current location. The mill is now owned by the Twiske Recreation Foundation, and is open to the public.
