The Stormvogel mill is a traditional corn mill. It was built in 1849, on behalf of M. Bolt, and is a typical ’stellingmolen’ – a large mill with high sails, and a walkway around the middle that allows the miller to safely reach the sails.. It was sold to the town of Loppersum in 1966. The town leased the mill to the Nienhuis family until 1971. When the lease ended, the mill was restored, and the town chose to continue to run the mill on a voluntary basis.
