The Salamander Mill was built in 1794 for Jan Prijn Anthony and his wife Stephana Zoddar. The mill is identical in structure to the ’De Hoop’ mill, and both mills were owned by the Windlust Company. The Salamander mill was added to the list of protected monuments in 1971, and was restored by the Salamander Mill Foundation in 1985. Today, the mill is used to saw timber for flooring and furniture. The mill is open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday.
