The Marsch mill was built in 1885, to replace an older, wooden polder mill that had been destroyed by a fire the previous year. The mill was built by D. Van der Tas of Charlois, for a cost of 14,600 Guilders. The Mill was used to drain the Leeds and Overwaard Polders until the 1960s. Today, the mill is maintained by Mr. L. van Aalsburg, who also operates the mill on weekends if the weather is suitable. The Marsch Mill is open to the public.
