The Couwenberg mill was built in 1849 by the mill-maker Mommersteeg. There is a plaque on the mill with the inscription “The first stone was laid by Ant. Couwenberg and J. J. Lombarts in the years 1849.”. The mill takes its name from the name of the first miller, whose family owned the mill until the end of the 19th century. The Couwenberg Mill is open to the public every Saturday, with tours available on other days by appointment.
