The Overwaard Mill No. 8 is one of eighteen mills on the Kinderdijk polder. The group of mills on the Kinderdijk is the largest grouping of mills in the Netherlands, and since the mills have remained largely unchanged since their construction, the site is considered to be one of incredibly high cultural value, and is on the Unesco World Heritage list. The mills were built in the mid 1700s, and are fine examples of Dutch 18th century engineering.
