The Overwaard Mill No. 1 is a historic watermill on the Overwaard in the town of Kinderdijk. It was built in 1740, and is one 18 mills in the area. The group of mills in Kinderdijk is the largest of its kind in the Netherlands, and is recognised as a World Heritage site of ’universal importance’. The site attracts 3,000,000 visitors each year, with the majority of them coming from overseas to see the historic and spectacular examples of Dutch engineering.
