The National Museum of Antiquities was established by King Willem I in 1818. Over the years it has developed a large collection of Egyptian, Near East, Greek and Roman artifacts. The museum runs presentations targetted at visitors aged 12 and older, that bring Roman history to life in the form of scale models, reconstructions, videos, and actors posing as historical figures. Other exibits include a collection of archaeological finds in the Netherlands from prehistoric times onwards.
