The Museum of Natural History is home to a collection of 10 million objects – of which around 10,000 are on display at any one time. The new museum building was designed by architect Fons Verheijen, and work was completed in 1998. An 80 metre footbridge connects the new building to the old Naturalis reception area. The museum has a number of interactive displays suitable for a variety of age groups, including ’Earth Inside’ which is aimed at younger children.
