The Munnikkenmolen is a 19th century polder mill located on Persant Snoepweg in the town of Leiderdorp. The mill was built in 1890, to replace a smaller ’wipmolen’ that had been destroyed by a fire the previous year. The mill and served the 193 hectare Munnikenpolder until 1958. In 1964, the mill was bought by the town. The Munnikkenmolen is in a good condition, but the wind profile of the mill has been severely affected by a number of new buildings that have been constructed in recent years.
