The Mill Museum is located on Koog aan de Zaan, just north of Amsterdam. The area was once covered with more than 100 mills, used for everything from cutting wood to producing paper, paint, and even mustard. Today only twelve of those mills are still standing. The Mill Museum is home to a number of miniature replicas of classic mills, and also has a number of exhibits explaining what life was like in the Netherlands throughout history, with numerous videos, and antique mill utensils adding flavour to the displays.
