The Visitors Windmill in Kinderijk is one of the main attractions in the small town. Kinderdijk has a number of mills lining the draining channel which feeds into the River Lek. The visitors windmill has been preserved very well, and there are a number of items on display including traditional tapestries, pots and pans, and wooden shoes. The mill is fully operational, and there is a miller present throughout the day to explain how the mill works and answer any questions.
