The Kikkoman is a relatively modern windmill. It was built in 1925, and was given its name because the building work was sponsored by Kikkoman Foods Inc. The mill is now used to drain a plot of land cared for by the Groninger Landscape Foundation. The Kikkoman mill is now maintained by the Groninger Mills Foundation. The mill has many features which make it unique, and is one of the last remaining mills of its kind in the Groningen region.
