The IJzendijke corn mill was built in 1841. It is a high ’stellingmolen’, and was originally owned by J. Cammaert and his wife Sophia Carolina Doens. A stellingmolen is a tall mill with high sails, and a high walkway around the outside of the mill that allows the miller to safely reach the sails. The stellingmolen design is a very popular one, because the height of the sails means that the mill catches more wind, and can be ran in a wider range of weather conditions. The IJzendijke mill is ran on a voluntary basis, and is open to the public every Saturday.
